EXPANDING SILICONE RUBBER SQUICHER

Liquid silicone rubber that hardens quickly and expands, increasing its volume by almost 5 times.

Descriptions:
THE NEW ALTERNATIVE TO ESPAK SOFT TO CREATE HOMEMADE SQUISHYS!
From the PROCHIMA laboratories a two-component liquid was born, free from FREON, which allows to obtain a soft foam in cold closed cell, with the similar softness of espak soft in free foam.

The increase in volume is approximately 4-5 times in free foaming.

The density of the foam can be increased if the foaming takes place in a closed mold, depending on the quantity of product used. The foam is of the peeling type: a compact semi-gloss film forms on the external surface which covers the cells.

ATTENTION: even if squicher like ESPAK SOFT is a closed cell product, water absorption of up to 20% of the weight of the foam can be measured. This is due to the rupture of cells close to the external surface, especially those on the surface in the direction of expansion.

Characteristics
Compared to ESPAK SOFT:
– It has the same processing time,
– It is less liquid,
– Expands less,
– It's not dangerous.

The use ratio of 1/1 by volume facilitates dosing, so as to leave time to correctly mix and pour the product.
Removing the mold can be carried out after approximately 30 minutes at 25° C.
It is necessary to remember that SQUICHER, like all Platinum gums, cannot be poured directly onto some materials to prevent catalysis from being inhibited: see the following paragraph "WARNINGS FOR CORRECT USE".

SQUICHER, like all silicone rubbers, is non-stick on all materials except
on itself and various other silicone materials in general, on which they can present
more or less tenacious adhesion. However, it is inhibited by acetic silicones and tin gums (polycondensation).

Processing tips
The optimal processing conditions are at 25°C. Higher temperatures reduce pot-life and hardening and maturation time.
Conversely, lower temperatures increase the two times.
Use at temperatures below 10°C is not recommended.
Once the two components are combined in a wide-open container, mix quickly and evenly.
Mix for 10 seconds, 15 at most. Use quickly.

WARNINGS FOR CORRECT USE
GLS-PRO silicone rubbers are of the addition type.
These rubbers, unlike those for condensation, require particular attention as they do not tolerate some substances that inhibit their catalysis.
First of all, never use tools, containers or spatulas that have been used with normal condensation rubbers: the two types are absolutely incompatible and the slightest contact is capable of preventing catalysis.
It is also necessary to ensure that the masters used as a model do not contain even the smallest quantities

Traces of rubbers and condensation-type catalysts,
All products that contain even minimal traces of sulfur and derivatives,
Polyneoprene glues,
Polyester-based resin, fillers and mastics,
Non-wax based plasticine and glass putty,
PVC,
Tin and heavy metals in ionic form,
Amines
Natural and synthetic rubber.
So if the model contains these substances or is made of one of these materials, it must be covered with a film of release wax to isolate the master from the rubber.
The wax must always be tested beforehand because some may contain traces of substances that inhibit catalysis. Even some waxes of natural origin can cause this inconvenience.
Polyvinyl alcohols might be fine but they tend to shy away from silicones, so it's best to avoid using them.
Purified Vaselines (i.e. those for pharmaceutical use) are fine but the use of liquid ones is not recommended because they could rub off on silicone.
Cosmetic creams that are used daily can be used after checking: some natural extracts can cause problems.

Storage
24 months at temperatures between -5°C and +30°C in the original packaging.

Warnings
Do not use at temperatures below 15°C.
Respect the indications for contact with certain materials.

Tips for safe use
